I tested mine when I got it about 3 months ago and it was dead on. I was a bit surprised to find it was .003 off when I tested it this week. Just goes to show you can't take anything for granted when brewing.
Peace!

Mine ended up being 0.001 low, but I figure that's in the measurement noise. The stout's settling down at 1.022 now, so I think its getting time to bottle!

What got it to go down some more? Just curious.

Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza.

I dug out a hotpad and a towel, warmed to 76F and swirled. I got some little lilypad bubble nests for a few days and some airlock action, and voila! It hasn't dropped any since Monday now, so I'm planning on bottling tomorrow evening when I have some time.
There's some ..interesting.. flavors in there now - sort of licorice like. Since we're talking stout its not really a problem. I'm curious to see what a few weeks of bottle conditioning will do.

It's amazing what yeasties will do with a little time. It's good to hear you were able to get the gravity to move. It bet it tastes just fine.

Brew on!
Peace!
