Gueuze Fond Tradition from Castle Brewery, Belgium.
I'm not getting any sour notes in the aroma, only barnyard. The color is a little darker than expected, somewhere between copper & orange. Beautiful head, but it disappeared almost immediately. Carbonation is very low for style - more lambic than gueuze. Flavor-wise, I wouldn't exactly call it sour. I'm getting the slightest hint of acidity, but again, not what I look for in a gueuze. Good attenuation, body is spot on with BJCP. Also not as complex as I would look for in this style.
All in all, it's not a bad beer, but extremely far off from my expectations as well as BJCP guidelines. More like halfway between a lambic & gueuze, but not really fitting well in either category by itself. I would definitely drink a few of these.
