I'm so sick of the "tea party mentality" that we are living in a communist-socialist society. It comes to a point where your freedoms become a burden on the freedoms of others and if you are to selfish to realize that then you are likely own a yellow flag with a snake on it.

My guess by this statement is that you don't fully understand the tea party movement. I am not a full fledged member, I am actually a libertarian, but share some similar ideals. The main idea is that first we are NOT a democracy we are a constitutional Republic. The government was setup this way to protect the INDIVIDUALS rights. Democracy is nothing more than 51% of the population ruling over the remaining 49%. This is why the bill of rights are so important, all of them. They are natural rights that the government cant take away. Unfortunately the politicians have done a wonderful job convincing people that their "right" to health care or education ect. Are more important than their basic human rights.
When I am FORCED to pay money for things that I don't believe in then who's burdening who. The government doesn't have money, it is the people's money.
There is one basic fact that makes collectivism ineffective and that is everybody is different. People have different political beliefs, different religious beliefs, different jobs, different sexualities, and different lives. If we do things for the"greater good" then essentially you will be forcing someone to go against their beliefs or doing something that is bad for someone else because you believe it's best for everyone. So essentially the larger the government the more you are FORCING other people against their beliefs. The smaller the government the more people are FREE to be as they wish.

Beautiful, dude. I changed my party to Libertarian recently because I was tired of my former party being a bunch of spine-less, nut-less, fuck-ups. I know I'm completely out of step with most of the country, but I couldn't give a damn.

Free is a very relative term my friend. Are we free to make a decision to make our own fate? Yes.... are we free in a country that has a government that works for us instead of against us for the betterment of the citizens with in it borders? FUCK NO!

Code!

Can we get an 'ignore this thread' option or something? I get all excited in my :nutters: when Off-Topic lights up only to find... well... this. There's about a half dozen threads I'd love to have that option on. Please Code Almighty?

The "View new posts" link below the word "Members" up on the top right is the way to go.

I set my shortcut to the BN Forum to that url (see below).
Only new msgs show up, and if you don't like the title, you don't have to click on it.
