For emails, these nonsensical spam posts are probing for bounces and to destructively "train" spam filters with pure noise in order to get more real spam through. The idea is to generate a better list of email addresses by eliminating those emails that bounce.

I assume that for forums like this one, they are looking for a similar thing - filter out the sites that bounce them so that they can better target their crap and also to try to poison the training algorithms for spam filters. Most of what we do here is manual. Nobody can post without getting our permission for the first ones. That gets rid of 99% of the spam, but lets lots of asshattery through.
