Now just trying decide what my second beer might be

I think the lager might have been a bit ambitious!

You are in the UK... brew something regional like a bitter or something you can get in the pub... that way you can see the differences and how to modify your brew to be better... gives you a baseline as it were.

how you doing awalker. i'm not the only one from the uk here then. whereabouts in essex are you? i have a couple of friends who travel out that way at the weekends.
