Thia coconut pumpkin ale soup

So I made this the other day for a family gathering the other day except I used jubel ale for the beer portion. I have to say the soup was good but the hops in this beer really kinda clashed. I loved the beer and the hops blend so well in the beer you really don't notice how hoppy the beer really is. However in the soup the bitterness kinda overpowered the soft sweetness of the pumkin and coconut. I am tempted to try it again with this beer as the malt and spice in it really blended well. It was just this bitter aftertaste that kinda killed it for me. Anyone think doubling up on the coconut milk and cutting back on the beer might work?

Prost! and thanks for the recipie Master Chef Paxton!
