BrewerB, my recipe is very close to yours, but I don't use the corn starch and I don't use an IPA. I get off-flavors with heavily hopped beers, I like to use something malty like a Scottish or porter.

And I don't want to claim that recipe as mine...but I did use it.

I haven't yet tried with an IPA. Last time I made this, I used Marin Brewing Company's Mt. Tam Pale Ale and had fantastic results...best beer batter I've tasted.
