Ok, I know this isn't directly cider related, but isn't this the same thing as when you're making an ice bock? It's been a while since I listened to that show, but weren't they freezing the beer, and pulling the more concentrated beer off the ice?

Would making an ice beer be illegal as well?

Eisbocks at home are technically illegal.

That said, I'm not sure anyone would care.
