WLP802 Czech Budejovice Lager Yeast Question

I’m getting ready to do my first Bo-Pils and was going to give the White Labs 802 strain a shot. I usually ferment my lagers at 48˚ - 50˚. My favorite Bo-Pils is Budvar/Czechvar so this strain seemed like a good one to start with. I was wondering if anybody has any experience working with this strain in the past. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Just used it on my Czech Pils. LOVE IT. I fermented at 50 with a 2 degree threshold on the controller. The beer is really clean (tasting and appearance-wise) after 7 weeks lagering. It flocc'ed very well, too.

I saw it was supposed to be a low flocculater and was wondering if I'd need to filter or fine it. I'd rather just let it drop out and go that route. Do you think it's should be fine without filtering? Sounds like you had success with it without having to filter it.

It all depends on how brilliantly clear you want it. Mine had a very, very slight haze that didn't bother me. I did try a little gelatine - because I was going to send this to NHC, but I think it only marginally helped. It's still pretty damn clear. Given enough time it should flocc out just fine.
