For glueing the wood to the foam - the best thing i could find is plain ole elmers wood glue. All of the liquid nail and other types of adhesive do not work very well and they tend to make the wood warp cause of the moisture.

I never made one, but if I did - I'd try contact cement to glue the foam to the wood. It's possible that the solvent in the contact cement would melt the foam - so a test would have to be performed first. If anyone reading this has both - can you try a test with a small scrap and let us know if contact cement does dissolve the foam? Thanks!

Yes a fridge would be easier but for some of us, though we may want a spare fridge it is not in the cards. I was also looking for something that will use a bit less energy and take up less space. Besides, it's been a fun project.

As for adhesive i ended up using the liquid nails "projects", I haven't been home yet to see what the finished product looks like. I wish that I had read about the Elmer's glue first but hopefully this will turn out fine.

Cheers

Believe me, I am trying to avoid one. Wood glue needs clamping and time. I suppose you could get away with weights if you laid all the pieces flat prior to assembly. Contact cement is instant - no clamps required. Liquid nails definately sets faster - but still needs clamping. I'm sure all three will hold just fine.

I could not get liquid nails to dry under the big parts and every edge that did not have a ton of weight on it would warp up. I even let one piece dry for one week. when i took the weights off the whole wood piece just peeled up and all the liqud nails was still wet.

When I put wood glue - It dried overnight and wha-la. it worked..
