What is the mesh size on your bag? Might it be possible that you are leaving a lot of husk an grain material behind in your boil that is resulting in the flavor you are picking up?

Could be. I usually have quiet a lot of trub on the bottom. Should I filter wort.

My vote would be on building a cheap mashtun from a braid & a cooler.

Beer got better. Probably was still green. Thanks for all the advice i'll for sure have all those things in control for next ag batch.
Yeah mash tun is coming soon. Also some better then IC form of cooling. Counterflow dual IC is nice but still seems not very efficient. Don't want to use all that water .. :asshat:

You'll end up using a lot of water any way you do it... In my opinion, the best way to reduce waste is to recapture and reuse that water that comes out of the chiller... water for cleanup, flushing toilets, watering plants (after it's cooled), etc...
