Looking for beer from Great Lakes Brewing Co.

Tue Oct 21, 2008 8:11 am

A coworker has suggested that I try a couple of beers from Great Lakes Brewing Co. in Cleveland. Specifically he suggested the Commodore Perry IPA and the Octoberfest. If anybody can get these beers, I'd gladly swap through the mail, fed-ex or what ever some brews local to me. I'm in Kansas City, local beers are from the following brewerys: Flying Monkey, Boulevard, Free State Brewing (would have to send in a growler, might not travel well) or anything else that might make it to my area but not yours. Anybody interested?

A four hour road trip to the edge of Illinois would hook you up.
Pri: Community Nudity Ale, Magician Red Ale, Berliner Weisse
Bottled: Paxton's Tripel and Dubbel, 400 Rabbits Ale, Cap'n Crunch Amber Oat Ale

Wish I could help. I bought a sampler 12 pack in Cincy at the NHC and they make some kick ass beer. I saw some Great Lakes beers at a huge liquor store in OKC when I was driving back home. :jnj

Sorry I didn't see this in time for the Octoberfest stuff, but I can get some of the Great Lakes Brewing Co's stuff for a swap if you're still interested. Send me a PM if you are and what you'd like me to look for next time I'm in the beer shop.

I was recently in Cincinnati for a family get together and had a Burning River Pale Ale and it was fantastic.
Just my 2 cents as I can not get these beers here.

I'd recommend the Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald Porter. It is my epiphany beer, and that should say a lot.

I bought their sampler when I was in Cincy last year. Everything was excellent. +1 of the Edmind Fitzgerald Porter.
