Weasal Boy Brewing

Thu Jun 06, 2013 11:50 am

A few episodes ago Jay from Weasel Boy said he has a 7 barrel system and pardon my ignorance but does that mean he can boil 7 barrels at a time which is 217 gallons or does that mean his entire system including fermentation supports 7 barrels? I wanna know please. I am gonna be calling in on Sunday bucking for drunk of the week so if I don't get an answer here I'll axe then too.

You folks have a super day!

It means each batch can produce 7 barrels of beer. A lot of breweries will run several batches to fill their fermenters.

A 7 bbl system typically will be able to mash and boil to complete a batch of that size. As TDS said, a 7 bbl system can be used to single batch a 7bbl fermentor, double batch to fill a 15bbl, etc, etc.

I work in the waste water department at my job. We have 14 tanks that are 5,000 gallons each. When I'm bored I think about how cool it would be if that were all beer.

If you take what I post here literally, you're retarded. I'm here to fuck around, have a good time, and learn about beer. You mean nothing to me and I mean nothing to you.
