Monterey, CA area?

My adviser is going to be spending time in the Monterey area in a few weeks and was wondering about the beer scene there. So... what good bars, breweries, beer pubs, bottle shops can you fine folks recommend he go to while out there?

He'll be working full days in the Monterrey area and is kinda looking for a decent spot to spend his evenings, but I'll pass that along to him if he heads up that way.

Not a beer suggestion. but my wife and I really enjoyed the Fish House.
It was 10 or 15 years ago, still...
