Brutus 20

I haven't seen many dedicated 20 rigs so I figure I would share.

It's all electric. 4500 Watts in the BK, 1200 Watt RIMS in the MLT.

I like it, it's small and compact and gets the job done. The higher gravity brews I just set aside some extra hot water and do an additional recirculation and dump it into the BK.
I am considering having an HLT built that will fit between to the two kegs to make things a little easier when doing anything over 1.050. Will it still be a Brutus 20 after that?

Wow, this looks like exactly what I'm looking for. Namely, the all-electric aspect of it. Can we get some plans and sources for parts? I've been looking at www.highgravitybrew.com at their "Build Your Own Brewery" electric systems, but $1500 sounds a little much and it's not temp controled. They recommend adding a Johnson Control temp controler to it. It looks like yours is not only temp controled, but fully automated. I guess there are plenty of posts that discuss automation, but I have never seen any discussion on the electric portion of this. I WANT TO BE ABLE TO BREW INDOORS!!!

Hey, thanks.

Sorry it took me a while to get back. I built it out of 1 1/4" 14 gauge steel tubing and some steel diamond plate. I thing materials for the cart itself with casters was under 100 bucks.
It isnt fully automated but it is set up to be eventually. I have a version of it built to scale in google sketchup. I went ahead and uploaded it to the sketchup warehouse, search for Brutus 20e and it should pop up.

I can post up some electrical drawings later when I get some time.

Cool, thanks for the help. One more thing.... what's the sketchup warehouse? (I hate asking questions like this, just in case it is something really obvious and I'm just an :asshat: )

Whow - your setup looks really nice.
I would like to know what your vessels are made of? They look like insulated Kegs.
Also I am looking forward to the electrical sketches. Is it a single phase ore 3 phase supply for the heating?
Kind regards
Steen from Bryghuset Straahatten in Denmark.
