I hear you mylo but everyones setup is a bit different. Tomato, Tomatoe. One persons trouble getting clear wort from their system may not be the next persons, even with the same setup. Besides, I think most of us home brewers spend a bit more time than we need to fixing things that ain't broken, gadgetizing, and upgrading our systems...hell that can be half the fun for me! I'm not trying to emulate the big boys, just havin' fun.

I finally received the mash filter pads, they look like the same material as a scotch brite pad, but I went another way I have RIMS system and use a keg and false bottom from Sabco, so I constantly recirculate my mash. I found by adding a layer of 40 mesh stainless screen over the false bottom it totally cured all problems, my wort could not be clearer, my effenencys went up, and last week I brewed a oatmeal stout and a Dunkleweizen with no problems. i have a couple of friends with the same system and they switched to this screen and couldn't be happier.
