Just got my 20psi regulator in the mail and attatched it to my three standard outdoor cooker burners on my flat sculpture. The flame that I am getting is orange and humongous. i am pretty sure i have not used the correct connection directly into the burner. The original connector was 1/8 thread but went down to a tiny point. The connector i used had no reduction in size. Does anyone know what exactly it is i need and where to find it? Been all over hardware stores and cant seem to find it. found this
http://morebeer.com/view_product/9620/102341/Burner_Jet_-_1_8_in._x_1_in. at B3 but i am not sure if this is what i need. Any help is much appreciated.

You need to have the right size gas orifice for the burners. Try checking out your local propane supplier for them. Some BBQ stores also have them. You can also look on line. Good Luck.

You need those jets. I sounds like your fuel to air mixture is way off without it (orange flame and soot on the bottom of the pot). I belive that these jets are made at morebeer, so if you need a special, they can do it.
Looks like you did a great job on the rest of the structure.
Enjoy,

Thanks for the help guys. last night i ended up doing what i should have done from the beginning. I stole these burners from outdoor cookers so I already had the old hose and regulators that came with them. So went to home depot last night, got some barb fitttings, cut the hoses and used them to connect back to the burners. Wish I would have thought about that one first instead of trying to do copper tubing and then not having the right connector. Anyway, they are pumping strong blue flames now. Thanks for the help. Brewing oatmeal stout today.

Yeah, you definitely need the propane orifice. The one from B3 is one option around $5.00. I think anything else you find will be about the same price... and they can be difficult to find.
As an experiment about a month ago I tried propane on an open piece without the jet, and pretty much ended up with a fireball of a brew stand. Kids, do not try this at home!
