This started out as a True 2 door beer cooler.

So, this has some work left before it's the boss beer-dispensing monster I envision. But I dig it...4-way gas distributor, two kegs already dispensing beer, two carboys awaiting minor adjustments. We'll build a collar and upholster it soon.

For now, here it is...simple and functional.

Nice....looks like what I want to do to mine. Also like your brewstand. How far apart are your taps and was the stained wood just for looks or was there another reason for it?

I'd love to see a couple shots of how you connected it inside.

On the old Brewing Network website, there was a "doc's gadgets" page that had instructions on how to make a kegerator. i followed that for the most part. i took out the inside of the door and replaced it with thin wood paneling from home depot.

i drilled out the 4 holes at 4 3/8" o.c.

it is important to use perlick forward sealing faucets unless you drink out of every tap every day. they are a bitmore expensive, but i hear that most cheaper faucets stick.

If you use one gas tank and run it to all four kegs, a manifold with check valves is necessary. i shut mine off nightly so that not to even out the carbonation amongst my bitters and german lagers.

The 2 x 4 spacer is used because i like using fancy ass taps, not the little plastic black ones. if you use the big ass taps i have, they hit the front of the fridge before they close, so you need a spacer to keep them from hitting. morebeer.com sells these adapters that will allow you to put on "big tap handles" without a spacer, but they are like $20 each. i found that sanding down and polishing a piece of 2 x 4 was better.

hope that helps. :jnj :bnarmy:

Do yourself a favor, Blippidy. Screw a piece of aluminum to the inside of the freezer door right by the handle that extends behind the fridge door. That way, if anybody accidentally opens the freezer - the fridge door opens and you don't spill precious homebrew on the ground.

I like the Bad Frog... I have one of those myself...

After the first time or two I figured I'd learn to open the refrigerator door first. After opening up four taps for the fifth or sixth time, I screwed the doors together.

EXACTLY the same situation, i duct taped my handles together after i spilled homebrew a couple times, and a buddy did it once.
