My Wife would veto that shit in a second!

I am waiting until we finish the basement, and then I get a brewroom with a sink and all... No Floor drains, but what the hell. I'll get back to you in 10 years on that one... :)

Although it’s primarily for use in the kitchen, the website talks about a way to modify it for a propane burner application. That's where my interest lies. I realize this product looks pretty gay; I just like to find different ideas and try them out. Some of them make it into my brew day, some not. I think it's the nature of our hobby (or obsession) to find different new tips or tricks. Some of those even go pretty mainstream (auto-siphon for example.)

Thanx

Chooch, I have a mission for your ingenuity, if you choose to accept it! Since you are on an island, and you like to tinker, I would like to see a brew system completely independent of all utilities. Meaning, water, electric, etc. You know, Robinson Carusso style! As you know, the oil is running out. And I know it is even MORE expensive in Hawaii. When the crash comes, and society crumbles, we brewers (and distillers for that matter), with the capability to brew without reliance on the outside world will be in the best position to barter. We can take over the world...

If anyone can do it, you can!

You're killin me! Although I have been eyeballing my wifes "sun tea" jug as a way to make hop tea, then dry the hops in the sun and then use them to kindle a fire for the boil. I hope everyone likes the taste of light oxidized hops! :D

Maybe if you use one of those metal infuser balls the hops will stay out of the sun.
Hmm, the extracted hop oils & whatnot won't though.
Maybe just heat the water in the jug, then put the hops in and wrap it in towels/foam to keep the heat in? You won't get the bitterness conversion, but once you have a roaring fire of dry, used hops, coconut husks, palm fronds and pig grease you could boil some of the extract for 60mins to get the conversion done.
