Does anyone here have one of these 9 gal more beer kettles?

I'm thinking about ordering one through my local shop, but I'm wondering about somethings.

1. Can I upgrade to a standard ball valve later, or would I need to weld in a new coupler?

2. Can I add a false bottom later, or would this require some sort of mods?

3. Is it worth the money? I don't ever plan to make more than 5 gal batches, and I plan to soon upgrade to all grain?

Hey I said I would stay with 5 gallon batches that was until I went all grain Now I want to go to atleast 10 gallon batches. Your going to all the trouble getting a bigger kettle why not get bigger than u think u will ever need and have the pad just incase u do decide to go bigger.

A standard ball valve will work fine, but the threads on the kettle are not tapered Pipe threads (NPT) they're straight very close though. Some teflon tape on the ball valve threads does the trick.

They make a false bottom that fits that model, (slips right in)

Yes, it's worth it to be able to do full-wort boils. You will see a jump in the quality of your beer.
