Making a mash tun

I am looking for some plans or help in building a mash tun. I would like to know what kind works best as far as a cooler style mash tun. I have some what limited funds and a kettle mash is a bit out of my range since i am still stovetop brewing. Any help would be appeciated.

As far as Mash Tuns go, here is what I see is the most important things:
- Decent valve for flow control
- false bottom should cover as much of the bottom as possible.
Coolers are really the bomb as far as mashing go, because they keep heat so well. If I were you, go to your favorite online brew supply shop and get the false bottom made for igloo coolers and a ball valve, you can connect the two with a piece of tubing, that is really about all there is too it.

+1 I bought a 48 qt coleman, a bazooka screen and a premade valve assembly and I've never looked back. I think batch sparging is the way to go.

Batch sparger as well, I switched after 3 tries at fly sparging... it just works better for me.

Fly sparge with a 48 qt Igloo Ice Cube (Deluxe?). Very happy with that. You could batch sparge with the same setup. If you can't easily cut a false bottom, you can do a screen, braided tube, copper manifold ...

Have 3 different styles of mash tuns. The most cost effective rectangular cooler with full bottom (special made) false bottom, works the best. Beats the snot out of the $200 and $300 versions.
