I have an old dishwasher sitting in the garage was thinking about pulling the pump and using it for my all grain system to move water and wort,. Was wondering if anyone out there has heard of doing this. if so let me know.
Thanks Beerman

Noone has ever heard of nor tried it, frankly I am offended that you ask such a silly question. j/k I think that it might just work, its obviously food grade and heat rated to some extent. I'd say get it wired up and give it a good cleaning with PBW and see what it will do for ya. Good luck.

You may find the pump is a little strong for controlled movement of wort and brewing water, but probably just right for a keg washer.

Keg washer ?

Keg washer what the hell did I get married for gonna need to reflect on this for a while, (just a joke ladys please don’t hang me publicly). To much pressure is a good point so when I wire it up on Sunday (brewing Saturday) I think I will put it on a dimmer switch. Will let ya know how it works out.

Reostate might not be the right idea. Guess I will try direct wiring without the reostate switch if pressure is to high I will try and step voltage down any other ideas besides a reostate switch? if not what the hell the the pump is just collecting dust right now.

Go over to www.hbd.org and do a search on the archives in the discussions area. There were a number of threads on this very topic a couple years ago.

While there, you might as well as check out the current postings. Lots of great brewers over there with lots of great advice. I know what you are thinking, the last thing you need is another beer brewing discussion forum to waste your time on instead of helping SWMBO with the chores.
