Keg coupler plug

Wed Sep 28, 2011 8:31 am

I took off the nuts to my keg coupler and found a strange looking plug in the gas line. Is this plug supposed to be in the line? Doesn't seem to have any holes in it to allow gas to pass thru but design and pressure may allow the gas to get thru. No where in instructions. New to kegging and seems odd to have this plug blocking gas flow. Is this supposed to be there?

Just saw on youtube...thompson valve/check valve? Says its there so beer doesn't flow back in line.

Yes it's supposed to be there. It's the gas check valve.
Look at the Replacements parts tab for an exploded diagram of the keg coupler.
