Just bought a new jockey box off of ebay. Unfortunately when I got it it has 50' of 3/16" id stainless steel tubing.

Is it any good for a jockey box? From what I can find the minimum that everyone uses/sells is 5/16" id stainless.

I am making up a double tap box to be used at large church functions so the beer will be flowing somewhat quickly sometimes, maybe one glass every minute on average? And at other functions will flow much slower.

I use 3/16" beer line (although I don't need 50' of it), but I wouldn't worry about the pour speed too much as long as the system is balanced. The 3/16" is going to transfer heat much better than the 5/16".

I don't have a chart for stainless ID restrictions (because it's sold as OD), but here's the restriction per foot for stainless.

1/4” OD 1.20 lbs/ft
5/16” OD 0.30 lbs/ft
3/8” OD 0.12 lbs/ft

That'll be helpful for balancing the system.

I am not going to be using the 1/4" od pipe. I have two 50' 3/8" coils that I will use.

Will sell the 1/4" on ebay!
