Do you use an airlock on your stirplated starters? Or are you talking about the tiny bubbles rising up through?

All awesome info , Thanks guys!!!! So I have a 1000 ml and a 2000 ml flask now. I was going to order a 5000 ml flask so I could grow more yeast in one shot. What do you think??? If I put 2 viles in 4000 ml will I get (2 vile ) 200 billion cells doubled = 400 billion cells? Is it safe to assume that If I use 3 viles in that same 4000 ml Id get close to 600 billion cells?

Thanks

3 vials in 4L will probably give you somewhere around 500-550, won't quite get the doubling you'd get with 2 vials in 4L.
