WLP011 European Ale?
Different...
I've only used it once but liked it.
WhiteLabs does mention English Ales in their description
http://www.whitelabs.com/yeast/wlp011-european-ale-yeast?s=homebrew
Gimme oysters and beer (and Durian) for dinner every day of the year...

Wyeast recommends 1187 for Southern English Brown.
You should brew a mild or two with it first, then pitch the cakes into your huge fermenter.

Thanks for the input BNArmy!
I wish we had a huge conical, but it will get divided up among the club. I may try a few of these strains.
"Our" store is White Labs only, so I will have to check out the others in the area. (Bummer, right?)
I was thinking maybe the Edinburgh strain for fun too.

just finished consecutive brews of a mild, amber, and smoked porter with wyeast 1318- london ale iii. very happy with the results and think it would lend nicely to this style as well.
