Unless you hate cinnamon, you should be fine. I have made Christmas beers with it a few times, adding a couple of sticks to the kettle.

Keep in mind to go easy on it. You can always add more, but you can't take it out without blending another batch. With all spice additions, you should always start with much less than you think you need, and gradually add more. A little spice goes a LONG way.

Also, DO NOT put it into a boil!

Cinnamon contains gums that with mess with the viscosity of the final product, and can make things a bit goopy.

I used to put ground cinnamon into the apple syrup I served with my hush puppies on Friday Night Fish Fries.
After a couple of hours it got so gummy I had to thin it with more apple juice.
