Hey all, I was wondering if anyone had a tried and tested all-grain clone recipe?

I found a recipe that is rumored to be the homebrew that Sculpin was based on. I'd love to brew one, not a fan of paying $16.99 a 6 pack although it's worth it.

Costs a bit more in Aus (if you can find it) and by the time it's got here the quality is questionable sometimes. Though the guys did bring a bottle down with them for ANHC last year which was fresh and blew my mind.

Where'd you find the HB recipe? Willing to share?

I found this recipe floating around the internet in a few places and they are all the same so it seems like its probably on the right track. Keep in mind I haven't brewed this so I can't really vouch for it. From what I gathered this recipe is based on a mash efficiency of roughly 70%. The hop schedule and IBU's look a bit suspect to me as it doesn't seem to add up. It says the projected IBU's are 79.1 but I'm getting a much higher number adding up the IBU contributions of the hop charges. The real Sculpin IPA has an IBU rating of 70. If anyone is seeing something I'm not please let me know. Anyway, here it is:

Sculpin IPA Clone 5 gallons

Grain Bill:
11.00 lbs. Pale Malt (2-row) 1.8L America 1.036
1.00 lbs. Cara-Pils Dextrin Malt USA 1.033
0.50 lbs. CaraVienne Malt Belgium 1.034
1.25 lbs. Crystal 10L America 1.035

Hops:
1.00 oz. Amarillo Gold Pellet 9.40 AA/45.6 IBU @Mash Hop
0.50 oz. Warrior Pellet 16.30 AA/35.9 IBU @60 min.
0.25 oz. Magnum Pellet 14.40 AA/15.9 IBU @60 min.
0.25 oz. Northern Brewer Pellet 7.10 AA/7.8 IBU @60 min.
0.25 oz. Columbus Pellet 16.40 AA/18.1 IBU @60 min.
0.25 oz. Crystal Pellet 3.60 AA/2.0 IBUS @30 min.
0.25 oz. Centennial Pellet 9.90 AA/5.6 IBU @30 min.
0.25 oz. Simcoe Pellet 13.60AA/7.6 IBU @30 min.
1.00 oz. Amarillo Gold Pellet @ 0 min.
1.00 oz. Simcoe Pellet @Dry Hop

I have an excellent hops stash, but would have to source some Crystal 10 and Caravienne, which I'm thinking is not a problem.

I did some research on the clone recipe and wound up at this video where the brewer says they use CTZ, centennial and chinook for the bittering addition, so scratch the Warrior, Magnum and Northern Brewer at 60 minutes (perhaps that was an earlier iteration of the recipe).

The grains are definitely domestic 2-row, Briess 5357 Caramel 10L (per the video), Caramel Vienne 20L, and Carapils. The video specifies Caramel Vienne rather than the more commonly written caravienne, so it is probably Briess 7051 Caramel Vienne. This makes me wonder if they're also using Briess 5298 2-row and Briess 5419 Carapils (two favorites of mine) making this an all Briess brew.

The brewer says, late in the video, that Sculpin is dry hopped at a rate of 2.5 lb/bbl. That corresponds to a rather astonishing 1.3 oz/gallon!

I am definitely going to make this. :-)
