How much have you spent on brewing this year?

Not including what you spend on commercial stuff to drink.

I just added up my costs from January until now and it's pretty scary. In a good way--tee hee!

I'm afraid to know. The last time I did that, I had spent over grand. And that was before the hop crisis.

Tips for saving money:

Buy base malt in bulk through a local brewery or do a club buy from here

Buy hops by the pound. (I found good buys on eBay)

Buy propane at UHAUL. (don't buy the so-called "refills"-they're not full)

Helped my budget this year.

I refuse to answer on grounds that it may tend to incriminate me.

As a rule I don't do it. Also, the account page that shows all your orders from morebeer and their prices...I blocked it on my browser.

On the subject of propane fill costs.

I just got 4 BBQ size tanks filled by the people that deliver propane to the house. Cost me $8 each.

Filled one up in town at the feed store for $10+.

"Exchange" places charge $21-23 - ouch.

Shop around!!!
