I brewed the clone attempt #2 and it is very clean, but not much on flavor and aroma. I dry hopped it this morning with about 1.3 oz or Chinook. It won't be Arrogant Bastard, but hopefully will be something close with a little more flavor and aroma.

Since the Jamil show has been reformatted, I suspect there won't be anymore "official" Arrogant Bastard clone attempts. Based on previous shows, I plan to stick with attempt #2 for future brews.

TheDarkSide - what do you mean "reformatted"?

I've been brewing the 90% 2-row and 10% Special B and find it lacking something. It is suggested that Special B is limited to 10% but I do want to know what 15% would do.

Jubelale has a similar flavor (to AB) for me. They use a combination of crystal (maybe 80 or 120) and Special B.

Whaddaya think of 85% 2-row and 15% Special B?

The Jamil Show CYBI is now a style show. Commercial examples are tasted on the show and compared the the BJCP style guidelines. They just uploaded the RIS show yesterday and tonight (3/5/13) at 6pm PST, they are doing German Pilsner and American Barleywine.

No more CYBI format shows (maybe they can revisit for AB at NHC time...please)

Well that sucks balls - what are your thoughts of 85% 2-row and 15% Special B?

It is recommended not to go above 10% with Special B. Maybe try a percent or two more until you find the right amount.
