Racking carbonated beer???

Is this a bad idea? I brewed 10 gallons of porter about 5 weeks ago. I filled 2 kegs with the fruits of my labor about 2 weeks ago and hooked them up to the CO2. I am thinking of racking the 2nd keg to the 1st one when it's empty, but I don't know if this is wise after carbonating. Any suggestions?

you probably wouldn't want to rack it as it would foam everywhere, but you could do a closed transfer. make a jumper hose out of beverage line about 3-4 feet long with a liquid qd on each end, put about 5 psi on your regulator to the first keg and transfer. You will have to relieve the pressure in the 2nd keg by pulling the pressure blowoff and the transfer will begin.

+1, why would you want to?

Even if there's sediment, let it settle & pour off the first pint.

The more you mess around with it the better chances of infection. Just drink it.

Just make a keg centipede . .. put the gas on keg 2, go from the beer side of that in the gas side of keg 1, and serve out of the beer side of keg 1.

Sounds like it will be best to just leave it alone. I started drinking the first keg after about 5 days on the gas and, according to my digestive system, I was drinking a lot of yeast. I probably should have given it a few more days to settle out. The 2nd keg is hooked up to the gas but the beer line hasn't been attached yet. Hopefully by the time I make it to that one everything bubble-guts inducing will have settled out.
