My friend and brother,
I just came back after a bit of a layoff myself.
Went away when I went into rehab with the VA, about 2 years ago.
Lost not 1, not 2, but three very mediocre jobs cooking with successfully downgrading employers.
(BTW, I earned my culinary degree in 1992)
I get it.
As the song said, "we've all got bruises". That doesn't mean we were wrong, or bad, or guilty. It is just the effect of having the courage to do what we see what needs to be done, going for it, and not having the best of partners to see it through.
I guess it points to the truism "there are no atheists in foxholes".
I do wish you all the best, and my hope is that we can help each other till the end.
This may sound redundant, but I wish for you nothing but what you have earned, and deserve.
Please enjoy, if only for you and yours,
Alan
