The Session is back on the air this week, as the Brewcasters welcome to the show Jim Wagner, the veteran brewmaster of DuClaw Brewing Company. From his dominant competition homebrewing during the 1990s to his current role overseeing the rapid expansion of DuClaw's brewing operations, Jim has never lost his passion or his homebrewer's mentality, surrounding himself with a like-minded crew to experiment, innovate, and treat patrons at their four Maryland locations to world-class beers of every style imaginable.

foul stout by Joe Marceny, October 07, 2012
Dear Beer People:

I recently drank the worst beer of my life. Unfortunately, I brewed it. Frankly, I think this beer is possessed. It is an all grain stout and I think I added too much roasted malt as it tastes like a thick warm budwieser and cigarette butt soup. My second mistake was I misinterpreted the Pope's advice. When he said go lite on the oxygen, I thought he meant blast the the wort until it fizzes with O2. My yeast went apeshit, the corboy tops exploded and I now have a giant tread mark on my basement ceiling. I was about to pour it down the driveway when it occured to me that JP might like a growler. I live in Denver and I could offer him some skank homebrew during the firestone walker soiree.
